Empower your Running – What it is all about

Note: Change of Venue – The new venue is on the 2nd floor of the Caledonian building complex, 50 Logan Park Drive. Enter through the doors that face Logan Park Drive. We will have the Leith flags out, so look for those. The event will run 10-11.30am. There is parking along Logan Park Drive and Butts Road. Just be aware that Logan Park Drive will be closed from 12noon on Saturday, and it may be busy that morning due to sports games and other events. A wee warm up walk/jog from your car park might not be a bad thing though. Also if you have a yoga mat, foam roller, or massage/tennis ball please bring it along. – Strength and conditioning

– Injury prevention tools and recovery strategies

Run by Margie Campbell and Chris Bisley, two of our local legends who have a vast amount of knowledge to share. Read more them in Coaching

Margie is a musculoskeletal and pelvic health physiotherapist who has nearly 2 decades of experience. She has also competed in races from 400m through to ultramarathons and would love to help share some tips and tricks to staying healthy and injury-free. She will include some key information on different requirements for master’s and female athletes.

Chris has been involved in ultra-endurance sports for 20+ years as a competitor, training advisor, and self-coach. His own experience combined with a background in exercise prescription gives Chris a wealth of knowledge for individuals looking to get into running or ultras for the first time, or improve confidence and get closer to peak performance. Chris will share practical exercises that can be completed at home or post-run to boost running performance.

There will be advice and exercises to suit everyone. All ages, levels, genders, and those who run any distance are welcome. There are limited spaces available, RSVP to leithharriers@gmail.com to reserve your spot
