Lars won the 10km in an excellent time of 37 minutes 36 seconds, he was also naturally first in the Male M30-39 category.

Donna writes…..
Today I competed in the McKenzie Half Marathon in Fairlie. It was a well organized Community event with 1000 competitors.
I saw Lars when I was finishing, (along with Georgia his supporter).
We were the only two there from Leith.
Lars won the 10 km race.
My race was thru the river 6 times, up some big gravel hills, thru very muddy and slippery farm paddocks.
At the top there was beautiful views overlooking Fairlie with snow covered mountains.
The downhill from the top was very steep, slippery and technical.
By the time I got to the bottom trail with around 6 kms to go my legs were so heavy. We still had 3 river crossings to tackle which made my legs numb with coldness.
Colin was there at the finish line to greet me.
I’ve run much longer distances in events but this is the first Half Marathon Race I have run in years.
A very hard event but I’m wrapt to have run it…all wearing my Dress Stewart Kilt.
