Leith’s Rocky Allan
Leith’s Rocky Allan, using this as an excellent training run for the Naseby 200 mile, completed a PB 25 laps (hours or yards) for 167.75 km at the Krayzie BYU, perhaps echoes Clayton’s words: “To be honest, I really don’t have much to say about the race except for the fact that it pretty much ran perfectly. The course was segmented in many different parts (pavement, trail, forest road, sand, dunes, boardwalk) that it didn’t get boring, I only had to check my watch at one point each lap to make sure I had enough time, I feel that I was able to go into such concentration overnight to the point where I didn’t feel the need to listen to music or take caffeine, maybe it was the cold that kept me awake but I never felt it! Overall, a great confidence booster for Naseby in 43 days!” Keeping Rocky company were other endurance superstars from Dunedin, Paul Maxwell (34 laps, 228.14km), Glenn Sutton (33 laps), Julia Chamberlain (30 laps) and Adam Keen (28 laps).
