The 35th Three Peaks Mountain Race which was held on Sunday 15 April 2018. Congratulations to all those who achieved their goals in this year’s Three Peaks Mountain Race and to all those who assisted in making this year’s race another memorable one. There were gale force winds out there, but the participants and helpers were not going to let the conditions deter them. Thanks also to our sponsors for supporting this great event. Daniel Balchin won the 26km Three Peaks Mountain race and despite the strong winds achieved a fast time of 2 hrs 9 mins 14 secs. He was also the winner of the Town Garage King of the Mountain being the first male runner to the top of Swampy Summit (58 mins 8 secs) and to still finish the race. Second was Jonah Smith and third was Thomas Spencer. Sarah Douglas was the first female runner home in 2 hrs 35 mins 14 secs and she also won the Town Garage Queen of the Mountain being the first female runner to Swampy Summit (1 hr 8 mins 21 secs) and to still finish the race. Second was Dani Nicholson and third was Sharon Lequeux. First runner to finish the 11km Race the Summit run was Leith’s Danny Baillie reaching Swampy Summit in 1 hr 3 mins 35 secs . First woman was Ali Craigie in 1 hr 26 mins 26 secs . First team home in the recreational open team’s race was Ben Rowley & Leon Miyahara in 2 hrs 35 mins 12 secs. Helen Pearce was the first walker to the top of Swampy Summit completing the distance in 1 hr 47 mins 42 secs.
