Laura Bungard
Leith welcomes new co-trail captain Laura Bungard
Laura is a medical laboratory scientist who loves to hit the trails in her spare time. Completing her first ultramarathon in 2023 at the Tarawera 50km, her passion for ultramarathons continues to grow. She now has 8 under her belt, and is representing New Zealand in Trail Running at the World Champs later this year.
In 2026, she hopes to push herself more and reach a new distance by racing a 100km. Laura loves a good ridge-line with an amazing view.
Laura’s goal as a trail running captain is to get people of different ages and abilities on the trails and out of their comfort zone, so they too can find the love that she has
